Hello everyone! My name is Alexandria Collier, I’m 24 and I live in Wichita, KS with my wonderful husband, 3 beautiful, squirrely children and our ferocious ferret. Please no Wizard of Oz jokes as I’ve heard em all!
We attend a wonderful church called Berean Assembly which is one of the only I know in this area that preaches the Cross. Of course being a church that doesn’t follow all those church growth fads, our congregation is quite small. However wherever the Holy Spirit is, God will bless no matter what the size-and I am ever so grateful that The Lord graces us with his beautiful presence every Sunday and has added to our church weekly.
We left a seeker sensitive church because it failed to do what its main objective claimed- to meet our needs! Our needs being spiritual didn’t deserve to be met because we didn’t avail ourselves of the cell groups, daily activities, etc that we should have. Oh well, we won’t be missed with a congregation of that size, so they didn’t even notice our absence the Sunday after the new pastor decided to preach from The Message “Bible”.
In the end, I just thank the Lord for opening my eyes and leading me to a church where His Spirit is definitely not quenched and I can grow into an adult Christian. Praise God! Praise God! Praise God! I’d be so very lost without Him!
